PS Amb. Simon Nabukwesi Launches Hungarian Education Scholarships Fair
The Hungarian Government through the Ministry of Education-Kenya has announced the availability of two hundred (200) study scholarships for eligible Kenyan students. The scholarships are available for those wishing to pursue both undergraduate and post graduate degrees in various programs.

Speaking during the launch of the education fair in Nairobi, the Principal Secretary State Department for University Education and Research Amb. Simon Nabukwesi Said the Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship Program is a bilateral cooperation between the Kenyan and Hungarian Governments which was launched in 2013 as part of the government policy called “Eastern and Southern Opening. “The programs core mission is to increase the number of foreign student’s in Hungary and encourage Hungarian higher education institutions to attract top foreign students” said the PS. “Currently, seventy (70) sending partners are engaged in the program and we are proud to state that Kenya is among the partners” added the PS.
Amb. Nabuwesi noted that the areas of study provided through the scholarships are aligned to the Kenya Governments big four (4) agenda programmes in Agriculture, Manufacturing, Medical Sciences and Architecture, an important aspect of housing as well as promotion of industrialization and achievement of other National development priorities as delineated in Vision 2030.
The Hungarian Ambassador to Kenya H.E Mr. Zsolt Mészáros in his remarks said the Hungarian Government has been offering Scholarships for Kenyan students since 2016/2017 academic year under the Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship and has increased from fifty (50) to now two hundred (200) since inception.

He said Hungary will continue investing in Education to enable young Kenyans pursue quality higher learning experience in Hungary. The Ambassador. encouraged eligible Kenyan youth who qualify for this programmes to take the opportunity.
